Our History

Crust & Crumb Supplies Ltd. was founded in 2009 by Robert Harrigan in Mississauga, Ontario, with a straightforward objective: to provide Canadian pizza operators with a dedicated, specialist wholesale supplier that truly understood the unique requirements of their segment. At the time, most pizza operators were purchasing their equipment, packaging, and ingredients from multiple generalist distributors — none of whom possessed deep expertise in the specific demands of pizza production.

Mr. Harrigan, who had spent the previous 18 years in foodservice distribution management with two of Canada's largest broadline distributors, recognized an underserved niche. Independent pizzerias and small franchise groups were consistently reporting frustration with inconsistent product quality, unreliable delivery schedules, and a lack of technical support from their existing suppliers. Crust & Crumb was established to address these pain points directly.

The company began operations from a modest 3,200-square-foot warehouse in the Meadowvale Business Park area of Mississauga, initially serving a client base of 22 independent pizzerias across the Greater Toronto Area. The product offering at launch was limited to bulk flour, mozzarella cheese, prepared sauce, and a small selection of generic corrugated pizza boxes.

By 2012, growing demand necessitated a move to a larger 12,000-square-foot facility on Meadowpine Boulevard, which remains the company's primary distribution hub today. This expansion coincided with the addition of commercial pizza oven distribution, establishing Crust & Crumb as a true single-source supplier for the pizza segment. The introduction of custom-printed pizza boxes in 2014 further broadened the company's value proposition and quickly became one of its fastest-growing product categories.

In 2017, Crust & Crumb opened a secondary distribution point in Vaughan, Ontario, to improve delivery coverage across York Region and northern GTA suburbs. That same year, the company secured national carrier partnerships enabling coast-to-coast shipping to all Canadian provinces, extending its reach beyond Ontario for the first time.

Today, Crust & Crumb Supplies Ltd. serves over 500 active wholesale accounts across Canada, ranging from single-location independent operators to franchise groups managing 50+ units. The company employs 34 full-time staff across its two facilities, operates a fleet of six temperature-controlled delivery vehicles, and maintains relationships with over 40 domestic and international suppliers. Annual revenue exceeded $8.2 million in the 2025 fiscal year.

Our Mission

To be the most reliable, knowledgeable, and responsive wholesale partner for Canadian pizza operators — delivering consistent product quality, competitive pricing, and dependable logistics that enable our clients to focus on what they do best: making great pizza.

We accomplish this through unwavering commitment to three core principles:

Specialization

We focus exclusively on the pizza segment. This narrow focus allows us to maintain deeper product expertise, stronger supplier relationships, and more relevant technical support than any generalist distributor can offer.

Consistency

Our clients depend on us for products that perform identically from batch to batch and order to order. We enforce rigorous supplier quality standards and maintain detailed lot traceability across all ingredient SKUs.

Partnership

We view our client relationships as long-term partnerships, not transactions. Our account managers are measured not only on sales volume but on client retention, satisfaction scores, and issue resolution metrics.
